Welcome to Highwheeler Coffee, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Fort Plain, New York. This cozy café, situated at 84 Canal St, is more than just your average coffee shop—it offers a vibrant community space where friendly faces and delicious aromas intertwine to create an inviting atmosphere.

As you step inside, you're greeted by the warm, welcoming vibes that have made this spot a go-to for locals and visitors alike. The café boasts a diverse beverage menu that caters to all tastes, from refreshing teas brewed by the pot—such as the soothing Mutan White and fragrant Spring TiQuan Yin—to expertly crafted coffees that elevate your standard caffeine fix. Be sure to indulge in the Raspberry Brownie Parfait on Wednesdays or savor the delightful Banana Split Overnight Oats on Thursdays, both of which showcase fresh, wholesome ingredients in delightful presentations.

Customer experiences speak volumes about the charm of Highwheeler Coffee. Take it from Jared Bramer, who raves about the “delicious cold brew coffee and breakfast wraps,” alongside an impressive selection of pastries. Jamie Sittner admires the clean and welcoming atmosphere, reveling in the vegan and gluten-free baked goods that add an inclusive touch to the menu. With options like the tantalizing Tortured Poets iced coffee and a lemon trifle that even Angelina P. compares to “the amazing spirit of Taylor Swift’s album,” it’s clear that every item on the menu is crafted with thought and genuine love for the art of coffee and food.

The café is particularly popular among the biking community; many patrons, such as Miranda Chang, have found refuge here during their Erie Canal Trail adventures. The dedicated bike rack out front is a small yet appreciated touch for cyclists looking to recharge with a tasty panini or revive their spirits with a signature smoothie. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite to go or relaxing in the comfy seating, Highwheeler Coffee is dedicated to providing a unique experience, complete with local products and artisan photography for sale, making it a haven for both the appetite and the eyes.

In addition to its remarkable menu and inviting vibe, Highwheeler Coffee prides itself on catering to the health-conscious. Clean, welcoming and great flow of the space. Great selections for coffee & espresso. Vegan and gluten free options for baked goods along with others. Some local products and photography for sale. Mango smoothly and vanilla bourbon latte were delicious!

This is a wonderful place with great vibes! They offer lots of vegetarian and vegan drink options, which I really appreciate. I recently had the Tortured Poets iced coffee with a lemon trifle, and the drink was just as amazing as Taylor Swift’s album. I love the creative spirit of this place!

We stopped here during our Erie Canal Trail bike trip… what a great find! They have a bike rack out front, which is much appreciated. Tasty paninis and lots of great coffee drink and smoothie options. They also have some cute artisan wares for sale. We really enjoyed stopping in here and would definitely come again!

This is hands down the best coffee place I have ever been to! From matcha to teas to smoothies, and even limited items like Boba; It’s to die for! The food is amazing as well. You can tell it’s homemade, with healthy product and suitable for any dietary restrictions. If you want to be in tune with your body and take care of your gut health and YOU, this is the perfect place . Paninis, soups, scones, overnight oats, puddings, bubble waffles, breakfast sandwiches (I hate eggs but they still managed to make me like it!)- All made amazingly each time. The environment is the perfect combination of small town and city feel. The staff are so friendly, Becca (the owner) is absolutely fantastic with such a genuine energy about her. I have stopped in quick, I’ve played cards here, I’ve come to have a cup of coffee with friends, I’ve read my poetry at open mic, and even spent hours writing my book here. I guess you could say I’ve turned into a regular, and I can attest that from Amsterdam to Utica this is the best place you’ll find and worth every penny<3

We wandered off the bike path and along Main St. This place caught our eye and we are so glad we stopped by. A friendly oasis of java! I also tried a muffin—good stuff. Nice vibe, cool staff, and comfy atmosphere. Give it a go!
